One of my patients, whom I’ve helped with anti-HIV treatment in the past year, brought me today a bottle of pills. To gather a these pills, he postponed his own treatment for one hour every day, until he managed to save over a bottle and a half of treatment. When I heard how he’d done it, I wanted to refuse it. I had assumed this bottle was just a leftover because his treatment schema had been changed. My heart broke.
